In slowing down, we can begin to rediscover how community can bring us warmth, family can ground us, heritage shows us our roots, and that the natural world is abundant and salubrious. I find solace and joy in making hand made pottery that, to me, inherently shows reverence and embraces these principles of slowness.

In my sculptures, carefully considered fragments and layers accumulate organically across each surface. One might recognize floral motifs, snowflakes, microbes or calligraphy within the ambiguous multi-layered surfaces. Yet a sense of order remains, or re-establishes itself, as these embellishments are coupled with overlapping lines and areas of solid color.
